AM-1 Roofing Free General Admission Night Set for Jan. 8, 2025 at the 19th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout
Mega Miniseries Set for Jan. 4, 5, 8, 10, 11 & 12 at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park

VADO, N.M. (August 7, 2024) — AM-1 Roofing is teaming up with the 19th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts to provide FREE general grandstand admission on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at FK Rod Ends Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park.

“During this year’s Wild West Shootout Thomas Hunziker, who races with us each year in the Super Late Model division and owns AM-1 Roofing, approached me about doing something unique and fun for the 2025 edition of the event. We kicked around some different possibilities and ultimately came up with the idea of having a night where grandstand general admission was free for anyone, who’d like to come enjoy a night of racing action,” shares Wild West Shootout co-promoter Chris Kearns. “This is something we’ve never done before and I want to thank Thomas and Jennifer Hunziker and their company AM-1 Roofing for making it a reality.

“With the chance to see an incredible night of racing for free, we hope that new fans from throughout the greater El Paso and Las Cruces area will come out and see the event for the first time. I’m confident once they see how entertaining the show is, that they’ll want to come back time and again.”

The inaugural AM-1 Roofing Night at the Races is set for Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, and will once again feature free general grandstand admission. The night’s program includes Super Late Models ($10,000 to win), Modifieds ($1,000 to win), and X-Mods ($500 to win).

AM-1 Roofing, Inc. is based in Bend, Oregon. Thomas and Jennifer Hunziker made their start climbing ladders and roofing residential homes. With innovation and personal attention to quality, the workload doubled, and roofing became consistent. Incorporated in June of 1995 AM-1 Roofing hired one employee, two, three, and so on. Their personal attention and consistent fair pricing began attracting commercial contractors for subdivisions in the mid-nineties. There is no roof too complex, too large, or too small for the crews of AM-1. With their red trucks all over town, AM-1 has built a solid reputation with quality products and roofing material options.

The trained specialists at AM-1 can also help with condensation issues, poorly designed roof systems and improper ventilation. They have the ability to repair and/or replace roofing systems often for far less than may be expected.

The 19th running of the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts features six complete programs for Super Late Models, Modifieds, and X-Mod on Jan. 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, and 12.

Last week, it was announced that when the opening night of the event roars to life on Jan. 4, 2025 at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park, Super Late Model competitors will be competing in the inaugural $25,000-to-win Penske 50 presented by Schaeffer Oil.

The Saturday, Jan. 4 program has a $34,000 purse increase over the opening night in 2024 and posts $1,000 just to take the green flag in the night’s Dirt Track Bank Super Late Model feature presented by Black Diamond Race Cars.

The opener is part of the newly created Penske Racing Shocks 25-To-25 presented by Schaeffer Oil. Along with the newly revamped opener, the program ends with the $25,000-to-win / $1,000-to-start Rio Grande Waste Service 50 presented by Shaw Trucking on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Over $350,000 in prize money will be on the line during the 19th Annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts on Jan. 4 – 12 at FK Rod Ends Vado Speedway Park.

Each night finds the Dirt Track Bank Super Late Models presented by Black Diamond Race Cars, Mesilla Valley Transportation / Border Tire Modifieds presented by Rancho Milagro, and ShockerHitch.com X-Mods presented by Border Tire competing in action.

Additionally, an open practice session is slated for both January 3 and January 7.

Last but not least, each division will compete for a miniseries point’s championship and accompanying point fund.

Full event details, including advanced tickets, host hotels, and more, are currently being finalized and will be found at www.WildWestShootout.net.

In 2024, the six-race miniseries saw 181 competitors from across North America competing in at least one event.
