Dotson & Overton Lead the Way in CCSDS Cotton Pickin’ Prelim Night

COLUMBUS, Miss. (10/11/24) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) kicked off the 2024 edition of the Cotton Pickin’ on Friday night at Johnny Stokes’ Magnolia Motor Speedway, where 45 Super Late Model entries took to the state-of-the-art oval.

California’s Ethan Dotson set fast time overall in Mark Martin Automotive Qualifying before winning his heat race to earn the pole position for Saturday’s $20,000-to-win finale.

Meanwhile, after setting fast time in his respective Mark Martin Automotive Qualifying session, Georgia’s Cody Overton won his heat race to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for Saturday’s 60-lap feature.

Brandon Overton and Ashton Winger also claimed heat race wins to lock into second-row starting spots on Saturday night.

The Cotton Pickin’ weekend draws to a close on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway with CCSDS Super Late Model B-Mains along with the $20,000-to-win / $1,200-to-start finale.

Additionally, B-Mains for all local divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with Cotton Pickin’ Championships. The New Crown Vic Class will join the program as well.

The CCSDS Super Late Model tire rule for the weekend is as follows:
Left Front Tire: Any Hoosier Tire (90)
Right Front Tire and Left Rear Tire: NLMT2 (90), NLMT3 (90)
Right Rear Tire: NLMT3 (92)

Saturday, October 12 Schedule:
2:00 pm: Pit gates open
4:00 pm: Grandstands open
5:00 pm: Driver’s Meeting
6:00 pm: Hot Laps

Saturday Grandstands: $30
Saturday Children 6-10 $5. Children 5 & under free.

Saturday Pit Admission: $40
Saturday Children 6-10 $30 Children 5 & under free.
