If you take any stock in the internet weather forecasts, things are looking a lot better for Sunday July 1 at Quincy Raceways. The temperature forecasts are showing the high temperature to be in the mid 90’s during the afternoon and about in the high 80 for race time which will be at 7:30pm for this event which is the Bank of Quincy MOWA Sprint Car Special event.

Kenny Wallace has contacted the track this afternoon to let us know that he will be racing his Federated Auto Parts UMP Modified on Sunday night as well. Wallace had been planning on racing at Lincoln Speedway Sunday night but that event has been cancelled giving Kenny the opportunity to return to his one time home away from home, Quincy Raceways..

Jeremy Standridge, the President of MOWA has called and told us his drivers will have an autograph session in the grandstand area starting at approximately at 6:15. Most of the drivers will have hero cards available to sign and give out to the fans along with a huge amount of other merchandise that the MOWA group will be giving out during the evening.

Dunker Concrete has upped the ante in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Sport Mods and the IMCA Sport Compacts. Pat Dunker has kicked in an extra $100 for the winner in both classes as these two divisions will be racing a feature event only on Sunday night. The Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods will now race for $400 to Win and the IMCA Sport Compacts will be going for a whopping $200 to Win. Both divisions will have their feature line up determined by what IMCA suggested and approved method. That is, the top ten in inverted point average that are in attendance will start 1 through 10 with the rest of the field lined up heads up by point standings.

Standridge told us that he is expecting a very large field of 410 winged sprint cars for this event and that they hope to put on a great show for the fans. Remember that the event will start one hour later on Sunday July 1 to help heat the heat. The Pit Gates will open at 3:30, Grandstands at 6:00, Drivers Registration Ends at 6:30, Hot Laps at 6:45 with Sprint Car Qualifying starting as soon as Hot Laps are complete which should be approximately 7:30pm.
