Highland IL (Sept 19, 2011) While the racing season at the Highland Speedway has just concluded, Promoter Scott Kuhn is busy making preparations for the 2012 season. Changes are coming to the Speedway, and the first to be announced is in the Sportsmen Division.

Promoter Kuhn said “It’s with deep regret that I have to drop the Sportsmen division from the weekly line up, the class has been around forever and a lot of great racers have gotten’ their start in the Sportsmen.” Kuhn continued, “Even I drove a Sportsmen car in the start of my racing career, but the overall economics of racing have gotten the best of the class. It’s a tuff decision to eliminate anyone’s class from racing, but I am hoping this announcement comes early enough so drivers can look to the other divisions at the speedway and participate in one of them”

When asked if any other changes will be occurring at the raceway, Kuhn said that there are many things he is working on and those announcements will be coming shortly, as well as a date for the 2011 Banquet of Champions.
