Canyon Speedway ParkKevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (February 8th, 2012) – The use of USAC and ASCS in the same sentence is usually cause for some debate over the animosity of two of the largest Sprint Car sanctions in America and most often results in further deliberation on which is better. In 2012 the truth will be forthcoming as “The Grudge” will be settled in a trilogy of ASCS vs. USAC Grudge Matches.

The ASCS Canyon Region, the American Sprint Car Series only wingless division, will take on the United States Auto Club West Coast Sprint Cars in a three race series at three separate tracks that include one of each for the home field advantage and one on neutral ground with more than $15,000 to be distributed for the series point fund and $5000 alone going to the winner of the three race series.

Thursday March 8th will mark the first event for the series as the best wingless drivers in the west tackle the ½-mile semi-banked Las Vegas Motor Speedway clay oval for the “Sin City Showdown”. Round 1 of the Grudge Match Series will be on neutral territory and $2500 will be up for grabs for the inaugural winner.

Saturday July 7th the series will move west to the super fast 1/3-mile clay oval of Santa Maria Speedway for the “War at the Shore” where the battle tested veterans of the “Trilogy Series” will wage war on the home turf of the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series with another $2500 at stake.

The September 22nd “Brawl for it All” will take place on the ASCS soil of Canyon Speedway’s 1/3-mile clay oval with the winner taking home the series $2500 to win prize money and the series champion crowned thus ending the USAC vs. ASCS debate.

“This is a unique opportunity to bring two series together for three special events with substantial payouts and championship fund,” commented Chris Kearns of Santa Maria Speedway. “The two series are very close as far as rules and we are looking forward to letting some talented racers from both series get together to put on great events for the fans.”

With the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series adopting the Hoosier 105/16 Medium right rear tire and the weight rule adjustment for both series to 1475lbs, it will closely match the neighboring Sprint Car Series and mark the first time in history that both traveling series will have a “unified” set of rules.

The battles will wage as the Sprint Car stars of the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series and the ASCS Canyon Region come together for three separate events, each worth $2500 to the winner and every ‘A’ Feature starter pocketing a minimum of $300.
