Charron’s Auto Repair presents the Annual Intrepid Fallen Heroes Night at Lincoln IL Speedway this coming Friday, June 25. In addition to racing in six different divisions, there will be a special pre-race ceremony featuring bagpipes, color guard, flag ceremony, and rendition of the national anthem. Throughout the night, American flags will be handed out to those in attendance and other giveaways including t-shirts will take place.

Leading the list of divisions this Friday night is the Midwest Big Ten Series Pro Late Model class. Two events have been run so far this season, one at Lincoln Speedway and one at Macon, the two tracks in the Big Ten doubleheader this weekend. New Berlin, IL driver Nick Bauman has claimed both victories so far this season. Clinton, IL driver Roben Huffman is second in points with two third place finishes. Jake Little, Andy Minett, and Matt Taylor complete the top five in the standings.

The Midwest Technical Institute UMP Modified division has been a great class for Lincoln Speedway for years and that has continued this season. The division point runner-up, Ray Bollinger, out of Kewanee, IL, is the leader of the UMP Modified national standings. Bollinger won the first three races at the track this season, while last year’s point champion, Brian Lynn of Mason City, IL has won the last two features. Lynn now leads the Lincoln standings by 16 over Bollinger. Allen Weisser, who is third in national standings, is third in the track points as well. Curt Rhodes and Alan Crowder complete the top five in standings.

The highest car counts this season have come from the POWRi/Illini D-II Midgets presented by Nutech Seed. Champaign, IL driver, Patrick Bruns currently leads the national POWRi standings and is fifth in the Lincoln Speedway points. Bruns has one win at Lincoln and five elsewhere, while local point leader, Andy Baugh, of Mason City, IL, has taken two of the four feature victories. Chet Gehrke won the most recent D-II event during POWRi SPEEDWEEK. Baugh is followed in the local standings by Tyler Vantoll, Adam Taylor, Mitchell Davis, and the aforementioned Bruns. The Conklin Agrovantage Front Row Challenge this Friday night will be worth $700 to the first driver who starts at the tail and wins the feature event.

For the first time this season, the UMP B-Mods will be in action. Competitors from all across central Illinois are expected to attend, with this being their first of two chances to run Lincoln this season. The event will be a great opportunity to garner additional UMP points and see drivers from Macon, Spoon River, Peoria, Highland, and others.

Friday night will mark the second event at Lincoln for the Sportsman this season. Timmy Dick, from Monticello, IL won the first race earlier this season, while Scott Landers, Tim Bedinger, Jerry Myers, and Jeremy Nichols finished off the top five.

Rounding out Lincoln Speedway’s divisions for Friday is the UMP Hornet class. The division, which has seen a jump in car count this year will have some extra bonuses on the line this weekend, as a bonus point fund has been set up between Lincoln Friday and Macon Saturday, that will give the highest two day point finishers $100, $50, $25, and $25. Matthew Mackey leads the points by six over Jerad Matherly. Last year’s champion, Cook Crawford, sits third in the standings, while Bob Sanders and Mike Eskew are fourth and fifth. None of the top five have claimed victories this season, but that could all change on Friday night. Adam Webb and Oscar Tipsword have taken this year’s checkered flags.
