St. Peters, MO – Bobby Regot III is very familiar with Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. He has made the long haul from St. Peters, Missouri to Barberville, Florida on numerous occassions for the annual DIRTcar Nationals. But those trips were made as a crew member for a couple of different former hot shoe racers from St. Charles, Missouri. Regot was a crew member for the legendary Super Late Model and Late Model Hall of Fame Member Kevin Gundaker as well as Modified ace Jim Shereck.
Regot, who has been racing a UMP DIRTcar Modified the past three seasons primarily at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois and at various other tracks in Missouri and Illinois on occassion, will make his driving debut at Volusia Speedway Park’s big 1/2 mile dirt oval.
Roles will be somewhat reversed as Jim Shereck (who won the 2002 UMP Modified DIRTcar Nationals Championship) will serve as a crew member for Regot with Kevin Gundaker providing some technical advice and tips. Some of the advice given by Gundaker includes this quote “you’ll be fine just look out for chalk boxes and ute tires and take marshmellows for the alligators”.
