Harrison Goes Back-to-Back at Tri-City Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals

PONTOON BEACH, Ill. – June 24, 2011 – Mike Harrison seems to be a man on a mission when it comes to the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals . The Highland, Ill. driver powered to victory for his second consecutive $1,000 payday Friday night at Tri-City Speedway.

Harrison jumped to the lead after the initial start was slowed by pole sitter Kelby Simmons of Mason City, Ill. and held off Forrest, Ill., driver Jeff Curl to claim the win. Michael Long of Quincy, Ill., would finish third. St. Peters, Mo., pilot Bobby Regot III charged to a fourth place finish ahead of Tim Hancock of Mount Olive, Ill., who rounded out the top five.

Heat race winners were Simmons, Tommie Seets Jr. of Alton Ill., Harrison, and Dane Gundaker of Bridgeton, Mo. Tim Hancock and Scott Weber of Festus, Mo., captured B-Main victories.

The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals return to action Saturday, June 25 at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill.
