Jason Hughes & Stormy Scott score big wins at the Wild West Shootout!

Watts, Oklahoma racer Jason Hughes started the Wild West Shootout on a high note by winning the opening night at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona. Southern New Mexico Speedway’s Stormy Scott finished in the runner up position showing that the South West racers were going to be a force in the shootout. Rodney Sanders, Jake O’Neil, and Johnny Scott rounded out the top five.

The USRA RHS Modified division tallied 57 entrees from all over the country and even a few from Canada.

On Sunday, night two of the Shootout, Las Cruces, New Mexico’s Stormy Scott backed up his strong second place finish from the opening day with the A feature win at the USA Raceway. Scott beat Dereck Ramirez to the finish line in the $1,000-to-win main event, followed by Johnny Scott, Fito Gallardo and Canadian Tyson Turnbull. Round 3 of the Wild West Shootout takes place Wednesday evening before wrapping up with three straight shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
