Junction City, KY-February 11, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway officials are pleased to announce the track’s newly refurbished website, www.ponderosaspeedway.net, is now in operation. JumpStart Communications, owned and operated by Jeremy Shields, will be the website manager for the Ponderosa Speedway track website.
The track’s new website will feature the latest track news on the main part of the home page, along with access to the track schedule, track points, track and division rules, track information (which includes a listing of race winners and place to eat and stay while visiting Ponderosa Speedway), track sponsors, and track apparel, along with a page for use by the media that will feature photographs and a contact page for additional information as well.
Track officials would also like to announce a pair of schedule changes at this time as well. On Friday April 20, the Indiana Late Model Series will visit Ponderosa Speedway that will also see the Modified, Sportsman, and Street Stock divisions also in action on the same card as the Indiana-based Pro (Crate) Model division, while Super Late Models will not be in action that evening. The other schedule change involves the 5th Annual Colston Paving 40, which will now take place on Friday August 24 instead of the originally scheduled date of Saturday September 22, but will still pay $2,500 to win for Late Models, along with Modifieds, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.
Ponderosa Speedway will offer racers a chance to get some laps at “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” prior to the official start of the 2012 season as a pair of test and tune practice days are scheduled. The first test and tune day will take place on Saturday afternoon March 24, while the second practice session will occur on Friday evening March 30.
The 2012 racing season will officially kick off on Friday April 6 will a full program of dirt track racing entertainment that will feature Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, Modifieds racing for $600 to win, Sportsman racing for $300 to win, and Street Stocks racing for $200 to win. Also, RACEceivers are mandatory for use by all racers in all divisions at all times.
Ponderosa Speedway is a 3/8 mile D-shaped red-clay oval located just outside of Junction City, KY at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border.
