Another night of racing action along with kid’s bike races at intermission help to high-light the Saturday Action on the stock car portion of this weekend’s busy Midway Schedule.
Racing action will feature Factory Stocks,B-Modifieds,Midwest Modifieds,Street Stocks and Pure Stocks as the early season point races have brought new winners to victory lane and at the top of the standings.
This week the kids 12 and under get to compete as the popular bike races will be held at the intermission break.
With only 1 win so far,Lebanon’s Brian Schutt has grabbed the top position in the Factory Stock Class as the class has yet to have a repeat winner.Schutt will take a 15 point margin into the action over former champion Bob Gustin and a 19 point lead against Brandon Waters.Last week Mark Simon added his name to the winners list as after three point races it has bee nGustin, Schutt,Tim Petty and Simon in the victory lane as Brown won the Spring Fling and and a bonus points special
B-Modified point leader Ted Ballinger took home his first ever Midway win last week and goes into this week with a 51 point margin over brother Tim Ballinger and Bill Schaar.The Modified division points events also is looking for its first repeat winner as Brian Webster,Ballinger,former champion Michael Stake and Cody Nivens and Kris Jackson have won features.Cody Nivens is moving up the ladder and now sets in 4th place with DeWayne Hobbs 5th.
Mark Simon so far has been perfect in the points races in his “Travelin Wagon” and supports a 70 point margin over rookie Brandon Henderson.Joe Francis despite missing a race is 3rd followed by lady driver Karla Lampe and Matt Darnell.Simon has had plenty of close competition but seems to find a way to the winners circle.
Sam Petty has had a near perfect season in the Midwest Modified class.Despite his 4 point wins,Lebanon’s Travis Hill is only 13 point behind the leader by being up front.Jamie Petty moves up to third place.
The Pure Stock class has a close battle as Rob White is only 12 points ahead of defending champion Matt Young.Problems for both drivers last week has kept it close so far early in the season.White has won 3 features as Young has 1 win.
Racing starts Saturday night at 7:30 with practice starting at 6:40.Gates open at 5PM while admission is only $10 for Adults with kids 11-15 only $5 and 10and under Free.
Midway will also be in action on Friday night with area go-kart racing and Sunday Afternoon with the Missouri State Pit Bike Competition.
