Springfield RacewaySpringfield, Mo.- Track Owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug bland are pleased to announce that the Springfield Raceway will fly the USRA(United States Racing Association) Banner again in 2013 for both the Modified and B Modified divisions.

First joining the USRA in 2009, The racy “Quick-Quarter” has played host to some of the best racing action especially in the Modified Divisions week after week.

For 2013, Springfield will feature Modifieds, B Modifieds, Midwest Modz, Legends, Young Lions Legends, Pure Stocks and Street Stocks on the regular shows while Modifieds and B Modifieds will be competing for track and National USRA Points.

Last season 2 Springfield regulars track champion Jackie Dalton and runner-up Mitch Keeter both finished in the top 20 in National points for the Modified class while Veteran Rob Muilenburg just finished outside of the top 20.

Veteran Modified driver, Scott Drake of Webb City captured not only the Springfield Raceway track title, but also the USRA National B Modified National Championship while competing with a GM Performance 602 Crate Motor purchased from track sponsor Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield while starting most of his features from the 12th starting spot. Springfield, Mo racer JC Morton finished 3rd in the National Championship Chase for B Modifieds while running a partial Springfield schedule.

The USRA Nation Chase gives drivers points on their best 20 feature finishes plus offers bonus points for car count and starting position to finishing position.

“USRA offers a good point fund for not only the track, but also in the National Chase.” quoted co-owner Jerry Hoffman. “The insurance policy they offer the drivers is a big plus and for the cost of the license is well worth the value.”

Springfield will sanction the opening race for National points on Saturday March 30th as the Speedway holds the 2nd annual March Madness Shootout featuring MARS Super Late Models, USRA Modifieds, USRA B Modifieds, Midwest Modz and Legends with Racing to start at 6:30 PM.
