Attention: “Jacksonville Speedway has made the decision to go “all in” for Sunday for the MaryLee Standridge Memorial. The forecast is pathetic for Thursday and Friday and with all the rain we have received, there’s no point in pretending that we are going to get a race in Friday… even if it doesn’t rain. By moving to Sunday, when there is no rain in the forecast it gives us the ability to bring in people and equipment to get the pit roads etc. in shape so we can hold an event. If we are going to the expense of building roads to hold a race, we need to do it on a day that’s expected to be dry. This gives us the chance to start working Sunday morning in dry conditions to hold a Sunday evening race.”
