Gateway Motorsports ParkWhat:                                  Illinois Army National Guard Midnight Madness at Gateway Motorsports Park.  Tonight celebrates “Release your inner redneck” with a burnout, fastest truck and most redneck ride competition.  On the midway there’s a best mullet, beer belly and a Daisy Dukes contest!  And, you won’t want to miss the NASCAR tire-changing contest!  Illegal street drag racing has become a serious problem in St. Louis.  Gateway offers a safe place for licensed drivers 16 years and older to drag race and drift their cars on a supervised, nationally-sanctioned drag strip.  Midnight Madness events are on the schedule monthly during the season.  Tonight’s event will include drag racing, drifting and motorcycle stunt bikes.

Why:                                    Each year, too many young people are seriously injured and some killed due to illegal drag racing on Hall Street and various locations throughout the City of St. Louis.

“It’s time for the community to come together and support an alternative to illegal street racing,” said Curtis Francois, retired racecar driver and owner of Gateway Motorsports Park.  Francois is leading the charge to spread the word to kids about how to safely satisfy their need for speed on a supervised, authorized race track.

At Gateway Motorsports Park our mission is to provide our fans, racers and sponsors with a first-class, up close and personal racing experience. This includes unprecedented access to the drag strip, the oval, the road-racing track and a nationally-sanctioned karting track as well as special events such as concert and corporate functions for year-round activity at Gateway Motorsports Parkwww.gatewaymsp.com
