Military Appreciation Night with NASCAR’s Kenny Wallace the Saturday Night
Lebanon, Mo / May 4, 2014 – NASCAR star Kenny “Herman” Wallace will be on hand Saturday Night May 10th as the Lebanon I-44 Speedway will be hosting Roadtec Military Appreciation Night. Round number 3 of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Monster Energy Chase for the Championship gets underway.

Wallace, the youngest of the St. Louis Racing Brothers has competed in over 900 career NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Starts. Kenny started by helping brothers Rusty and Mike and turning wrenches on their cars.

Kenny won the very 1st race he ever competed in by capturing the Illinois Street Stock Championship on the Springfield Illinois Mile. Competing full-time in 1986, he won the American Speed Association Rookie of the Year honors along with Nationwide Rookie Of The Year in 1989. His Nationwide Career includes 9 wins and 10 pole awards while being Series Runner-Up in 1991. Kenny was budded a Super-Sub in many different roles filling in for injured drivers or taking a new team to an outstanding finish. His best known finish was in helping push Dale Earnhardt Sr. to his last Sprint Cup victory at Talladega. This will be a rare Asphalt racing appearance by Kenny competing in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Model feature as he normally competes in Dirt Modified events when he is short track racing.

Wallace is also host of the popular NASCAR Victory Lane and NASCAR Race Day on Fox Sports 1. His book “Inside Herman’s World” gives an insight like no other to the ups and downs in the career of a NASCAR driver climbing up the ladder.

To honor our Military past and present, the Speedway is offering all fans with a Military Picture ID Free Admission in the Grandstand. There will be a special autograph session during the intermission break with Wallace and all of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series drivers.

Action will feature the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Models, Budweiser Modifieds, Coca-Cola Chargers, Keyser Manufacturing Road Warriors and Monster Energy Sportsman as they compete for NASCAR All American Series, National, Missouri State and Track Points. Gates open at 5PM with the first race at 6:30 sharp.

After last weeks action, 3 new point leaders have emerged as 14 year old Kyle Donahue of Wildwood, Mo holds a slim 1 point advantage over Kaleb Allison of Mexico, Mo. in the Pro Late Models. Two time Sportsman feature winner Paul Jepsen of Rolla, Mo moves around Toby Harden of Ozark, Mo by 3 markers and opening night Charger winner Jason Walls of St. James grabs a 5 point lead over this weekend’s winner Jordan Nesbitt of Lebanon.
