DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Riggs Motorsports drivers Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs both invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 5-7 for the 20th edition of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ which kicked off with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs. On Thursday night, Brian ran seventh in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main, which unfortunately kept him out of the $2,500 to win feature event. Jason finished sixth in his heat race and third in his B-Main prior to picking off ten competitors during the 25-lap main event en route to a steady twelfth placing showing.

At the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant on Friday evening, a $5,000 top prize was on the line in a pair of Twin 25s. Brian grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race and later claimed a solid eighth place performance in the 25-lap feature event. Jason ran second in heat race action and was inside of the top ten in his Twin 25 until he was booted by Matt Miller and relegated to a disappointing twentieth place effort.

On Saturday at the “Big E,” all eyes were fixated on the 20th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ which once again boasted a hefty $100,000 winner’s check. Brian was unfortunately unable to transfer into the 100-lap crown jewel main event after finishing ninth in his stacked heat race and twelfth in his B-Main. Jason, on the other hand, transferred into his first ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ after running third in his heat race behind only prelim winner Eddie Carrier, Jr. and runner-up Chris Madden. After rolling off from the outside of the eighth row in the extra-distance affair, the Harrisburg, Illinois native brought home an eighteenth place finish in the crown jewel spectacular. Full results from the long weekend at Eldora Speedway can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

With the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ now in the rearview mirror, the Riggs Motorsports teams will start focusing on the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour. Jason Riggs plans to follow the entire 33-race schedule, which spans only 39 days through July 19. Brian Shirley will start out on the tour this week, but does not envision following the daily crisscross grind across the Midwest. You can watch the Riggs Motorsports drivers in action this week at the following venues in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin:

June 12 | Kankakee County Speedway (Kankakee, IL), Summer Nationals | $5,000 to win
June 13 | Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, WI), Summer Nationals | $5,000 to win
June 14 | Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, WI), Summer Nationals | $10,000 to win
June 15 | Wilmot Raceway (Wilmot, WI), Summer Nationals | $5,000 to win
