DIRTcar Summer Nationals(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team made the short hour tow to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on June 13-14 for the 16th Annual ‘Masters’ weekend. The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour once again roared into CLS to preside over a pair of high-profile events. The doubleheader weekend kicked off on Friday night with a $5,000 to win program and 32 competitors piled into the pit area.

Jimmy could only muster the fourteenth fastest lap in Group A during the UMP qualifying session, but the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace got up on the wheel in his heat race to earn the third transfer spot behind only prelim winner Billy Moyer and runner-up Shannon Babb. After rolling off from the outside of the fifth row in the 40-lap main event, Jimmy was able to work his way past three competitors en route to a solid seventh place showing. Saturday’s $10,000 to win ‘Masters’ finale unfortunately fell victim to wet weather and will not be rescheduled. Full results from the rain-shortened weekend at Cedar Lake can be found by visiting www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

Mars Racing has decided to hit the road with the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour this week and plans to enter the next five races on their schedule from June 17-21. The action will kick off later tonight at Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa, as a $10,000 top prize will be on the line. After the stop in the Hawkeye State, Jimmy and the rest of the Summer Nationals stars will snake through the Land of Lincoln to compete in four races in Illinois. A total of $40,000 in first place prize money will be up for grabs during the five-day swing through Iowa and Illinois. You can watch Jimmy sling dirt this week at the following venues:
