ARCAFull 20 race slate to kick off in February

(TOLEDO, Ohio – November 26, 2014) – Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America released the full 2015 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule Wednesday, and the tour once again has something for everyone.

The 63rd season of the nationally-renowned stock car racing series will again include stops at superspeedways, short tracks, dirt tracks and a road course over a 20-race season. And, for the first time since 1992, the ARCA Racing Series will race at Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tenn., bringing the .596-mile short track back into the series fold. Also returning to the schedule after a one-year absence is Iowa Speedway, where ARCA raced every year from 2006-2013. ARCA’s home track – Toledo Speedway – will host its race May 17 just a few miles from the series Temperance, Michigan home office.

“We’re proud of the diversity of the track configurations, the tradition inherent in the venues, and the markets represented by the 2015 schedule,” said ARCA President Ron Drager. “Maintaining the 20-race schedule is important to the team owners and our marketing partners, and we appreciate the opportunity to share the track with so many great racing series on any given weekend. We feel our schedule is unique in motorsports, and provides a challenging platform for race teams and an exciting, compelling showcase for race fans.”

The season will open with ARCA’s 52nd consecutive appearance at Daytona International Speedway, a race that serves as a preamble to the NASCAR Sprint Unlimited and the official start of Speed Weeks at the World Center of Racing. The season will conclude October 16 at Kansas Speedway with a Friday night race in which the ARCA season champion will be crowned.

In between, ARCA will head to multiple short tracks (Mobile, Nashville, Salem, Toledo, Winchester and Berlin), several superspeedways (Talladega, Pocono, Michigan, Chicagoland, Kansas and Kentucky), two dirt tracks and the New Jersey Motorsports Park road course. It’s an action-packed schedule requiring drivers and teams to perform on a wide range of track types and surfaces.

The ARCA Racing Series will be a part of a NASCAR double or tripleheader on eight occasions, race at the same venue as the Verizon IndyCar Series, and race with King of the Wing and USAC Silver Crown cars. The series will visit 12 different states and race across eight months.

There are several additional highlights to the 20-race schedule:

ARCA’s two races at Salem Speedway will mark its 97th and 98th races at the .555-mile short track while the first of two races at Pocono Raceway will be the 60th on the Tricky Triangle. The series will also race on Memorial Day weekend on the New Jersey Motorsports Park road course and Labor Day at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile dirt in Illinois. Talladega will be the longest track that ARCA visits in 2015 at 2.66-miles. The shortest will be Berlin Raceway, which is a .4-mile paved oval.

Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville hasn’t been on the ARCA schedule since 1992 when David Green, driving for Roulo Brothers Racing, drove to victory lane. Track Enterprises, which already administers races at Springfield, DuQuoin and Lucas Oil Raceway, will be the promoter of the Nashville Race. It’s the first race for ARCA in the Nashville market since 2008 when the series last visited Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn.

Mobile International Speedway will host its fourth consecutive ARCA race and once again be the second race on the season schedule. Winchester Speedway, which celebrated its 100th anniversary of racing in 2013, will host its 26th ARCA race on the last weekend in June.

The 2015 ARCA television schedule will be announced later.
