Race Promoter: “We WILL race in Nashville this weekend”
ARCA Menards Series & Super Late Models Set To Run

(Nashville, TN) It’s been a tough start for many outdoor activities this spring as Mother Nature has put a damper on a lot of plans.  That has also been the case with events at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in previous weeks, as the All American 400 and the regular season opener were postponed.  That said, it looks as if racing will get underway this weekend as the ARCA Menards Series and three different tours of Super Late Models are coming to town.  The events are set for Saturday night, May 4th with a backup raindate plan of Sunday afternoon, May 5th.

Track Enterprises is the promotion company of this weekend’s events and the promoter of the company, Bob Sargent, has stated, “We will race in Nashville this weekend.  The plan is to run the event on Saturday but if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, Sunday afternoon looks like a great backup plan.”

This will be the fifth straight year that the ARCA Menards Series is joined by Super Late Models in a rare doubleheader.  The event has been a hit over the years, though weather has been an issue in the past.  Last season, a raceday high temperature of 35 degrees kept some people away.  The event was moved one month closer to summer this year in hopes of seeing warmer temperatures.

Action begins on Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM as there is an optional Super Late Model test to prepare for raceday.  On Saturday, practice is scheduled to hit the track at 12:00 with qualifying at 3:00, and racing at 5:45 with the North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100 presented by Team Construction, followed by the General Tire Music City 200 presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions for the ARCA Menards Series.

Friday’s weather forecast looks promising for teams wanting to test. Saturday’s raceday forecast is the one many are concerned about, as chances for rain are indicated.  Officials would like to complete the event on Saturday but if rain does not allow that to happen, Sunday will be used.  Sunday’s forecast is 73 degrees with plenty of sunshine.  If Sunday is used, action would take place in the afternoon to allow everyone travel time during the evening.

The Super Late Model portion of the event looks to be as strong as ever with nearly 40 on the pre-entry list.  That race is sanctioned by the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS, the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco, and the CARS Tour.  For ARCA, a competitive field of up-and-coming stars is expected to put on a great show for those in attendance.
