Hines Takes Winter Challenge Round Five at CSP!

Canyon Speedway Park's Winter ChallengeLonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (February 3, 2012) – Tracy Hines parked his non-wing Sprint Car in victory lane for the second time in five rounds of Winter Challenge action by topping Friday night’s 30-lap feature event pitting the ASCS Canyon Region forces versus the USAC West Coast Series at Canyon Speedway Park on Friday night.

The New Castle, IN, native extended his Winter Challenge points lead to 12 markers over Arizona’s Charles Davis, Jr., who finished second on Friday night after capturing his second series win two nights earlier.

Hines $2,000 triumph on Friday night came from the front row outside with Davis, Jr., pole starter Shane Cottle, R.J. Johnson and Jeremy Sherman rounding out the top five. Bud Kaeding was sixth in front of Mike Martin and Jon Stanbrough, while Brent Kaeding was ninth in his first Winter Challenge start ahead of tenth-place finisher Bob Ream, Jr.

Martin, Davis, Jr., Brent Kaeding and Cottle won Friday night’s heat races, with Ream, Jr., victorious in the “B” Main.

A winner’s share of $5,000 is up for grabs as the sixth and final round of Canyon Speedway Park’s Winter Challenge goes green on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
