Lucas Oil Late Model Series(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer and his #15b team trekked to the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on May 18-19 for the inaugural running of the ‘Bad Boy 98.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the unique event, which provided the winner with $10,000 and a new 2012 Chevy Camaro. Brian qualified well on Friday night and later finished third in his loaded heat race behind Don O’Neal and Jared Landers.

After rolling off from the inside of the sixth row in the ‘Bad Boy 98’ on Saturday evening, Brian flexed his muscle early in the 98-lapper. The Muscatine, Iowa standout quickly moved his way up to third and set his sights on the leaders. Unfortunately, a tight racecar would cause Brian to fade back a bit until he ultimately was caught up in an incident with another competitor that caused him to retire on lap 75. He wound up posting a disappointing nineteenth place finish in the first installment of the ‘Bad Boy 98.’ Full results from Batesville can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series mega-event awaits the Birkhofer Racing team on May 25-26 in the Show-Me State of Missouri. The 20th Annual ‘DART Show-Me 100’ presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com will take place on Friday and Saturday at the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The 100-lapper on Saturday night, which will be taped for broadcast on CBS, CBS Sports, SPEED, and MAVTV Networks in 2012, will pay $30,000 to the winner. Brian was the victor of the ‘Show-Me 100’ back in 2009, which was the last year that the storied race was held at the venerable West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri.

Following the ‘Show-Me 100,’ the #15b team is scheduled to make the overnight jaunt to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for the annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50.’ The one-day UMP program at the St. Louis area venue on Sunday, May 27 boasts a $10,000 paycheck.
