DIRTcar Summer Nationals(MUSCATINE, IOWA) The Birkhofer Racing team ventured to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 8-9 for the 18th edition of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ presented by Ferris Commercial Mowers. The crown jewel extravaganza drew 98 competitors to the “Big E” and all eyes were fixated on the whopping $100,000 top prize. On Friday night during the two-round qualifying session, Brian Birkhofer timed in twenty-third fastest, which placed him in the second row for Saturday’s heat race.

During his 15-lap prelim on Saturday, Brian moved up to the second spot to finish behind only winner Shane Clanton. When the 100-lap ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ went green later in the night, Brian started from the inside of the sixth row. The Muscatine, Iowa ace hung around the top ten throughout the distance prior to notching a solid eighth place performance. Brian crossed underneath the checkers behind only Shane Clanton, John Blankenship, Darrell Lanigan, Steve Francis, Dennis Erb, Jr, Clint Smith, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. Full results from Eldora can be viewed by logging onto www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Following the strong run in the richest event in the Dirt Late Model industry, the #15b team has now focused their efforts on a trio of upcoming UMP Summer Nationals programs. The Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin will play host to a $5,000 to win show on Friday night and a $10,000 to win tilt on Saturday evening as part of the annual ‘Masters.’ The triple shot of “Hell Tour” action will then conclude for the Birkhofer Racing team on Sunday with a rare trip to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, as a $5,000 top prize will be on the line on June 17.
