DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team is out on the road chasing the UMP Summer Nationals tour with driver Randy Korte. In the first week on the series, which is dubbed as the “Hell Tour,” Randy entered events at three different venues in the states of Indiana and Wisconsin from June 12-16. The Highland, Illinois ace was able to grab a top ten finish in each of the first three races held in this year’s month-long grind.

At the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana last Wednesday, Randy ran second in his heat race prior to climbing up to as high as second in the $5,000 to win lid lifter. Unfortunately, he slipped over the banking in between turns one and two late in the 40-lapper and eventually netted a seventh place effort. On Friday at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, Randy also landed a seventh place finish in night one of the two-day ‘Masters’ weekend. Mother Nature then took the win at CLS on Saturday evening, as heavy rain wiped out the $10,000 to win ‘Masters’ finale.

The first week on the UMP Summer Nationals tour then wrapped up on Sunday at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin. Randy took the win in the B-Main prior to advancing seven spots in the $5,000 to win main event en route to a respectable ninth place performance. The popular driver known as “King Kong” currently finds himself fifth in the latest version of the series point standings following the first trio of shows. In all and weather pending, Randy will tackle six different facilities in the states of Illinois and Michigan from June 19-24. The upcoming schedule for the week is noted below:

June 19 | Spoon River Speedway, Banner, Illinois | $5,000 to win
June 20 | Belle-Clair Speedway, Belleville, Illinois | $5,000 to win
June 21 | Tri-City Speedway, Granite City, Illinois | $10,000 to win
June 22 | Fairbury American Legion Speedway, Fairbury, Illinois | $10,000 to win
June 23 | I-96 Speedway, Lake Odessa, Michigan | $5,000 to win
June 24 | Peoria Speedway, Peoria, Illinois | $5,000 to win
