DIRTcar(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Randy Korte racked up his fifth feature win of the 2013 racing season at the nearby Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois on Saturday evening, August 3! Randy won his heat race in preliminary action and later placed second in the dash to earn the outside front row starting spot for the UMP DIRTcar Series weekly feature event. The popular driver known as “King Kong” then recorded the victory by besting Chad Zobrist, Rick Salter, Scott Weber, and Dan Jacober in the A-Main!

Earlier in the weekend, Jason Riggs represented the Riggs Motorsports team on Thursday night, August 1 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. A special NASCAR Night was held at PIR and a $1,200 top prize was on the line. Jason moved up one spot to finish fifth in his heat race and later rolled off from the inside of the fifth row in the main event. The Harrisburg, Illinois native then blitzed past five competitors to score a hard-earned fourth place performance. Complete results from both venues can be found online at www.paducahracing.net and www.highlandspeedway.com.

With Jason Riggs scheduled to take this upcoming weekend off, Randy Korte will carry the Riggs Motorsports colors to a trio of Illinois venues from August 9-11 for a triple shot of American Late Model Series (ALMS) showdowns. Friday’s program at the Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois will pay $3,000 to the winner, while Saturday’s event at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois boasts a $2,000 paycheck. Another $2,000 payday will await the winner of Sunday’s ALMS tripleheader finale at the Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois.
