passQuincy, Illinois (04/16/14) – Jake Griffin is proud to announce that this weekend, April 18th-19th, he will be entering his first career event at Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, North Carolina) as he will go into battle with the Pro All Star Series (PASS) Super Late Models.  He will be piloting the #54 entry for Five 4 Motorsports, which is owned by NASCAR competitor, Daniel Hemric.

“I was just blown away by the opportunity offered to me by Daniel,” said the 15-year-old Griffin.  “When I got the phone call I almost thought that I was dreaming.  We’ve gotten to know each other over the past year or so, and I’m really honored that he wants to see me behind the wheel of one his cars.”  He concludes by noting, “To get to compete at the legendary Hickory Motor Speedway is just the icing on the cake.”

Hemric has watched Jake race with the JEGS/CRA All-Star Series and ARCA Super Series over the past two years and has really been impressed in Griffin’s ability and potential.

“I couldn’t be more excited to have Jake driving one of our cars this weekend,” notes Hemric.  “He has shown me a lot of potential behind the wheel, so I wanted to give him the chance to compete at new tracks.  Hopefully this will lead to more events together as the year progresses.”

This Friday and Saturday, April 18th-19th, the PASS Super Late Models will invade the 1/3 mile oval at Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, North Carolina) for the Easter Bunny 50.  Open practice will be held on Friday, while qualifying and the 150 lap finale will be contested on Saturday.  For more information on the event please visit www.HickoryMotorSpeedway.com .

After getting rained out in an UMP Modified weekly show last Sunday at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois), Jake will return this Sunday for another event.  More information on the racing program is available at www.QuincyRaceways.com .
