Lebanon-I-44-SpeedwayDavid Bates goes for his 101st Asphalt Modified win Saturday Night at I-44

Lebanon, Mo / May 1, 2014 –
After an exciting opening night of NASCAR Whelen Short-Track Racing Action, the “High-Banks” of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway is ready for round 2 of the Monster Energy Chase for the Cup.

NASCAR Action will feature the O’Reilly Auto Parts Pro Late Models, the Ground Pounding Budweiser Modifieds, Monster Energy Sportsman, Keyser Manufacturing Road Warriors and the exciting Coca-Cola Chargers. A special appearance by the Pro Baby Grands is slated to join the program Saturday Night.

Last Saturday Night’s season opener found 3 first time ever winners in their respective classes (Kaleb Allison of Mexico-Pro Late Models, Jason Walls of St. James-Chargers, and Paul Jepsen of Rolla-Sportsman) along with winners from past seasons Geoff Ledford of Neosho – Road Warriors and David Bates of Fair Grove – Modifieds. With close competition in all classes, round 2 could find many more new faces in the winner’s circle in the Chase for a NASCAR Championship.

Of the point leaders only Allison won his feature event last week.

David Bates also set a major milestone with the 100th Asphalt Modified feature win of his career.

The Gates will open at 5PM to the public in both the Monster Energy Grandstands and Budweiser “Wild Side” with specials in the Bud Light Party Deck all night. Practice sessions will be in full swing when the gates open and the first green flag will fall at 6:30pm.
