USCS Outlaw Thunder Sprints headline Cotton Boll Cup 2014 @Poplar Bluff Speedway on Saturday (10/18)

USCS-logo-2013-for-marqueePoplar Bluff, MO – October 13, 2014 – The United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters fires back into action this coming Saturday night October 18th as headliners of the 14th annual Cotton Boll Cup at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff Missouri. The USCS sprint car portion of the event will pay $2000 to win and it is possible for one driver to win $2100 by winning the Hoosier Speed Dash and A-feature. The event awards National Championship and USCS Mid South regional series points and pays $350 to last place in the sprint A-Main.

The USCS sprint car drivers and teams will also have a pre-event practice opportunity at Poplar Bluff Speedway on Friday evening during pole-qualifying rounds for the other six divisions. Friday evening’s “Pole Night” racing format is scheduled to make time available for the sprint car drivers to have three times on the track during the night’s action.

This is only the second time in the 14 year history of the Cotton Boll Cup (formerly at Malden Speedway) that sprint car racing has been part of the event. USCS winged sprint car driver entries are expected from at least five states for this weekend’s Poplar Bluff Speedway event. The USCS sprint cars will contest their complete program during Saturday’s portion of the three-day event that starts on Thursday evening with an open practice for all divisions.

On Friday night the K&N Filters Outlaw Modified drivers contest their qualifying races as do the Crate Late Models, Super Street/Hobby, Pure Street, E-MODS and Mini Stock divisions. Lots of side by side racing in all seven divisions including the USCS presented by K&N winged sprint cars, K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series, Crate Late Models, Super Street/Hobby Stock, Street Stock, E-MOD and Mini Stock classes is promised both nights. In total there are 200 laps of Championship main events with over $50,000 up for grabs.

Thursday, October Friday – October 17th Pits Open 4:00 pm
Friday (Drivers meeting 6:30 pm) Racing 7:30 pm
Saturday – October 12th: Pits Open 3:00 pm – Drivers Meeting 5:00 pm – Racing 6:00 pm.

Thursday – October 16th 7pm until 10pm: open practice for all divisions.

Friday October 17th Night Racing: Practice for USCS Sprint Cars and Pole Qualifying Night for the K&N USCS Modifieds, Crate Late Models, Hobby, Street, Mini Stock and E-Mods.

Saturday Night Racing: Full racing program for USCS sprint cars that includes Dashes, Heat races, B-Mains & A-Main plus finales in all 6 classes that qualified on Friday.

Hoosier sprint car racing tires and methanol will be available at the speedway both nights.
