I-30-SpeedwayLonnie Wheatley, LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (January 27, 2015) – I-30 Speedway’s Short Track Nationals.  It’s an event that race teams and race fans alike from all corners of the country eagerly anticipate each year.

And this year is no different, with the 28th version of the premier 360-ci Sprint Car event in the country set for October 28-31, 2015.

This year’s rendition of the COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires will once again kick off with the Short Track Nationals Open on Wednesday night, October 28, before moving on to two full qualifying nights that set the stage for the $15,000-to-win STN finale on October 31.

In what has become an annual pilgrimage to Little Rock, Ark., for many to determine bragging rights for the next twelve months, Oklahoma’s Christopher Bell became the event’s 17th different winner this past October by defeating a field of competitors from all across the nation.

Bell joined a prestigious list of winners that includes names such as Kinser, Swindell and Wright along with current Outlaw regulars including Paul McMahan, Brad Sweet, Jason Johnson and Jason Sides among others.

Gary Wright ranks as the only four-time STN champion with triumphs in 1995, 1999, 2003 and 2004.  Sammy Swindell added his third win in 2013 to previous scores in 1990 and 2011 to match Steve Kinser’s three STN wins (1988, 1989 and 1991) with two-time STN winners including McMahan (2002 and 2012) and Tony Bruce, Jr. (2008 and 2009).

In addition to Bell, others capturing STN honors on one occasion include Brad Sweet (2010), Jason Meyers (2007), Jason Johnson (2006), Tim Montgomery (2005), Jason Sides (2001), Mike Ward (2000), Tim Crawley (1998), Wayne Johnson (1997), Pete Butler (1996), Terry Gray (1994) and John Gerloff (1993).  The 1992 edition fell victim to rain.

Additional information including entry and ticket information will become available as the event draws closer.
