CALVERT CITY, Kentucky – Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway was laid low once again by the weatherman, as rain washed out the first night of the Bluegrass Nationals stock car racing program Friday.
The track has been idle the past two weekends, twice because of weather and once when no races were scheduled.
A decision will be made on Saturday night’s program as weather dictates, track officials announced.
The Bluegrass Nationals is featuring the MARS Late Model and AMS Modified touring series, plus races for Crate Late Models, Stock Cars and Pure Stocks, with all main events paying extra prize money.
The Bluegrass Nationals was originally scheduled to include a visit by the World of Outlaws Late Models in March, but the event was canceled by wet weather. The Outlaws series did not reschedule the event, so the MARS Late Models, already scheduled to make two visits to KLMS this year, were included in the rescheduled Bluegrass event.
Information will be posted on the track website at www.kylakespeedway.com and on the track’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/kentuckylakemotorsports.
