Kloos Wins Second Straight Dodge Ironman Late Model Main!

June 18, 2004; Granite City, IL – Michael Kloos bolted from the pole position to lead evey lap and win his second consecutive Dodge Ironman Late Model feature in Tri-City's Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Racing Series.

Kloos, who won the Dash for Cash, said he saw Tom Krankel's recent success from the pole and decided it was good for him too. He was right, even though Krankel shadowed his every move for 25 laps, waiting for the slightest chance to pounce. It never came and Kloos never looked over his shoulder. Chasing the pair at the checkers were Shannon Kuhn, Terry James and Rick Rhoades. The qualifying heats went to Kloos and Ray Emling, Jr.

Steve Johnson survived the insanity of the Mountain Dew Street Stock main to notch his first career win at Tri-City Speedway. by the mid-point of the 20 lapper Ron Heaton, Johnson, Pat Chalmers, Bubb Mitchell, David Walker and Steve Maisel waged a six-wide slugfest for the lead before Johnson finally emerged the leader with two to go. Taking the place and show positions were Heaton and Walker. Mitchell, Chalmers and Bert Jacoby won the qualifiers.

John Stanton won his first Budweiser Modified main of the season, besting Ricky Huebner and Joe Dresch. Tom Seets, Sr., Jay Hughes, Huebner and Stanton won the qualifiers with Stu Springer grabbing the Semi.

Brandon Hogenson won his first career Dominos Street Stock feature ahead of Rick Huebner, Sr., and Brad Yotter. Greg Cannon, Huebner, Buddy Love and Robbie Benson won the qualifiers with David Parker winning the Semi.

Aaron Wood notched his third Auto Trader Factory Stock win of the year, racing ahead of Todd Erickson and Ken Bell at the checkers. Pat Harper and Wood won the qualifiers.
