ASCS - American Sprint Car Series

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (February 4, 2011) – With the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters National season opener less than a week away in California, the inaugural slate of events for the newly-formed ASCS Southern California Region has been announced.

The initial season of competition for the ASCS Southern California Region is currently slated to consists of a dozen events at four different tracks with Hanford’s Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway, Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway, Santa Maria Speedway and Bakersfield Speedway all included on the ASCS SoCal schedule.

Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway will host six of the dozen ASCS Southern California Region events, Thunderbowl Raceway will present four events and Santa Maria and Bakersfield will each host single events.

The inaugural ASCS Southern California Regional event is scheduled for Saturday night, April 9, at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway, with Thunderbowl Raceway hosting the season championship finale on October 8.

May 21 – Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway (Hanford, CA)

May 28 – Bakersfield Speedway (Bakersfield, CA)

June 18 – Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, CA)

June 25 – Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway (Hanford, CA)

July 23 – Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, CA)

August 20 – Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway (Hanford, CA)

September 10 – Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway (Hanford, CA)

October 8 – Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, CA)

The 2011 season marks the 20th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with approximately 200 nights of competition at tracks throughout the nation and into Canada.  Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
