(Warrensburg, MO) – With temperatures soaring to the Century Mark this week, Central Missouri Speedway has decided to delay its starting times again for the program this Saturday, July 30! Pit gates will now open at 5:30 followed by grandstand admission at 6. The driver’s meeting will take place at 7:30, followed by hot laps at 8 with racing to follow. Last week two new drivers visited Waterloo Storage Products Victory.

Schultz from Sedalia is the current modified point’s leader and drove a masterful race last week to keep former track champion Aaron Marrant of Orrick behind him to claim his first CMS feature win of the season. Jason Bodenhamer continues to put pressure on Schultz in the second spot after a third-place finish last Saturday. Completing the top five in the modified standings are Jason Thompson from Concordia, Marrant, and a newcomer in the top-five, James Eaton from Bates City, a young driver in just his second season of modified racing. With some local hot dogs stating they were making the trip to Minnesota for a special event, we could see yet another new modified feature winner this week take home the prize.

The ULMA late model division has been dominated in recent weeks by Steve Clancy from Odessa after taking his fourth feature win in a row last Saturday. Drivers are attempting to figure out how Clancy continues to make his car work on the low side. The track point’s leader is Jason Bodenhamer of Centerview, who is also the defending CMS track champion. Warrensburg drivers, Jon Binning, another recent track champion, and Brett Wood from Warrensburg currently sit in second and third in the standings. Kevin Coyne from Kingsville maintains his fourth spot one spot ahead of rookie Chad Clancy of Smithville.

Brian Ziegler of Bates City continues to lead the Street Stock division with a solid hold on the points lead but Michael Mullins from Kingsville, who grabbed his first feature win of the year last weekend, continues to apply the pressure. Mullins is just 34 points behind Ziegler and is working hard to make a climb to the top of the standings. Herb Dannar from Holden posted another top-five finish last weekend and moved into the third spot with Nate Barnes from Kearney slipping back to fourth. Veteran driver Scotty Dukes from Odessa moved into the top-five after his best feature finish last weekend, a second place in the main event.

In the b-modified division, the dominator from Oak Grove, Jacob Ebert, added to his point’s lead by claiming his ninth feature of the season last week. Ethan Isaacs of Bonner Springs, KS and Jason Billups out of Holt, MO continue to try to figure out a way to beat Ebert and rest in second and third in the standings. Rounding out the top-five is Independence driver Nic Bennett in fourth who posted a solid second place run last weekend and Lucas Issacs, who built his car this year for his senior project, out of Bonner Springs in fifth.

Promoters Earl and Susan Walls gave direction two weekends ago that any new drivers coming to race at CMS for the remainder of the weekly racing season can now register for half price, just $30.
