Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-Another oustanding night of stockcar racing action was on tap Sat night at the Springfield Raceway as again close action was the call all night long.Bobby Pearish has found himself runnnig at the front pack all season and Sat night he helped stag another classic side by side battle with Robbie Bryant in capturing his third Budweiser RHS USRA Modified main event of the season at the Quick-Quarter as over 80 raceteams checked-in on Total Hi-Speed Wireless Night At The Races.

Jody Tillman jumped out to the early lead with Daniel Franklin following close behind along with Kyle Slagle. On lap 4,Pearish who started tonight in the 6th starting spot shot beside Tillman as the duo went wheel to wheel. On the 5th lap.Pearish made the pass to take the lead as Tillman,Franklin and Slagle were battling.Behind those front runners,Dusty Campbell in his new 525CT Crate Motor,Diarian Hendrix, defending champion Mitch Keeter, point leader Jackie Dalton and Erik Maggard were swapping spots back and forth along with Robbie Bryant and many others.Caution flew on lap 8 for CE Waters as he stalled on the backstretch.Erik Maggard came to a halt ending his night as Keeter had problems in turn 3.On the restart,Pearish jumped ahead as Tillman riding the top groove would find Bryant down on the hub of the track. At the halfway point,Bryant passed Tillman and began to close in on Pearish. For the next several laps it was classic as Pearish riding the top and Bryant downstairs went door to door without ever touching.Pearish went on to grab the victory with Bryant close behind while early leader Tillman,Campbell and Dalton completed the top 5.

In Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance B-Mod action,Kris Jackson jumped to the early lead with Jared Thulin following.Jackson was pulling away from the field leaving packs of two by two racing for positions. On lap 8,points runner-up JC Morton pulled to the infield with a broken bar ending his night while Jackson was untouchable. On lap 12 the only caution waved as Reuben Ellis slowed on the backstretch bunching the field up.With the double-file restart,Jackson would find Thulin and second half point leader Scotty Drake on his bumper.Jackson grabbed the quick start running down low as Drake shot to the top with his GM 602 Crate motor. On lap 14,Drake made the winning pass to record his fourth straight win at Springfield leaving Jackson to settle for second place.A great battle in the pack saw early contender Thulin, point leader Bobby Maggard Jr and Gary Rodocker complete the top 5.

The Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz again provided great racing as Rookie Ryan Hendrix grabbed the opening lead with Dakota Maggard and Randy Belk following closely. On lap 3,Belk moved into second and was applying pressure to the young driver while 3 wide racing saw points runner-up Sam Petty,Rusty Forrest,Maggard, point leader Trevor Drake and others side by side.A lap 11 caution bunched the field-up as Hendrix who all night was picture perfect on restarts brought the field a little slower pace than normal as the Green flew.Forrest took advantage of the restart and shot to the front spot quickly running the bottom of the track.Forrest would go on to grab his first official win of the season with Hendrix and solid second followed by Belk,Drake and Bobby gough at the finish.

The Missouri Legends provide a Talledega syle form of racing with 3 and sometimes 4 wide action.Brian Boucher jumped to lead lap 1 as veteran driver Wayne Johnston shot to the lead on lap 2.Johnston who had been in a slump lately was pulling away as 3 wide racing saw drivers battling for spots. On lap 4,Mike Hailman went to the lead as Johnston settled in for second place. This battle lasted until lap 9 when on a restart Rodney Baird made the move into second place as defending champion Justin Comer was in contention and point leader Dave Comer and Park Jones were coming fast.Hailman and Comer went side by side as D Comer pulled in with problems.Hailman and J Comer kept their battle tight as Jones was flying forward.J comer went around in turn 2 sending him to the back of the field. On the restart,Jones was challanging Hailman but spun in turn 4 ending his chance for victory.Hailman would withstand Wayne Johnston’s late surge to take the win with johnston,Baird,Tyler Horton and Rob Watson completing the top 5.

The Wheeler Metals PureStocks had a action packed feature and wild finish as Bryan Tillman in his ride took the opening lead with Tanner Sitton following. After a couple of cautions,Jeremy Thulin moved into second place while James Redus was a solid third place. While Tillman looked untouchable,it was a late caution that set-up the finsh. After a single-file restart,Tillman had Thulin pull beside him and Redus going on the bottom of the track as 3 wide had everyone holding their breath. With Tillman on the top groove,Redus and Thulin made contact out of turn 2 with Thulin going around.Redus was sent to the rear for assisting in the problem. On the final restart,Wayne morris made a run at Tillman but fell short.Tillman’s car failed to pass the vacuum test and Morris was awarded the victory with Bret Testerman,Philip Schloesser, point leader Hamer and early contender Sitton following.

Next week the Transport Graphics Season Championships presented by Casey’s General Stores will get underway as the 2011 Chase will end before the Speedway goes into the Season Ending Special events which include the Larry Phillips Memorial(Sept 17)with MARS/MLRA LateModels and A-Mods,B-Mods,Legends,Midwest Modz and PureStocks,THen the Octoberfast(October 15th) which features a great overall  payout for all classes involved and will include the Ozarks Area Bombers,The first ever BoogerMan classic(final touches are being put on it now) and the always popular Turkey classic on Sat november 26th.
