Mother Nature Puts A Hold On Friday’s UMP Modified Events at East Bay Raceway Park’s Winternationals, To Be Continued On Saturday

February 10, 2012 – Tampa, FL – Night number two of the UMP/EBRP Open Wheel Modifieds kicked off its second night with 46 cars and 15 states attempted to qualify for the heat races. After retaking his track record last night and having motor problems in the A-Main, Kyle Bronson set quick time with a 16.812 for group one and setting fast time overall. Group two went to Jeff Mathews with a time of 17.196. Group three went to Kenny Wallace with 16.995 and group four went to Vic Vena with a time of 16.868. Group five went to Bart Hartman with 16.818 and group six went to Matt Harper with 17.050.

Next up were three heat races for the TEAM USA Mod Lites with twenty cars qualifying. Heat race number one went to Doug Williams out of Central Square, NY. Heat race number two went to Brandon Dennis from Harrington, DE. Final heat race went to Landis Musser out of Laurel, DE.

Six heat races were next for the UMP/EBRP Modifieds. Ten laps each with the top two transferring to the A-Main event. First heat race went to fast time qualifier out of Brandon, FL Kyle Bronson in his back-up car and finishing second was Gary Cook, Jr.. Heat race number two went to Jeff Mathews out of Dover, FL and two time defending track Champion, Austin Sanders. Heat race number three went to St. Louis, MO driver Kenny Wallace and Brad DeYoung . Just as they were getting to run heat race number four, the skies opened up briefly bringing things to a hault.

After East Bay Raceway Officials looked at the radar, the night would have to come to a close. The rest of tonight’s events would be run on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, the pits will be cleared at 3:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be held at 4:00 pm. Hot laps will start right after the driver’s meeting. Grandstands will open approximately at 4:30 pm. If you purchase a Saturday ticket, you will see the remaining events from Friday night and ALL of Saturdays races.

If you purchased a 50/50 ticket, please hold on to them and we will pull the winning number at the conclusion of the Friday show. New tickets can be purchased when the Saturday show starts.
