World of Outlaws Sprint Car SeriesTickets can be exchanged for upcoming events or returned for a refund

CHICO, Calif. – March 24, 2012 – Tonight’s World of Outlaws race at Silver Dollar Speedway has been cancelled because of the combination of cold temperatures and the significant amount of rain in the area, which is forecast to move over the track in the afternoon and continue the rest of the weekend.

“The tremendous amount moisture in the ground from rains earlier in the week made the pit area treacherous on Friday night and prevented the staff at Silver Dollar Speedway from providing the outstanding racing surface that we normally see,” said Brian Carter, CEO of the World of Outlaws. “The cold wind and steady rain forecasted for this evening leave us little choice but to cancel tonight’s racing.”

Fans who have purchased tickets can exchange the value of Saturday’s ticket against ticket purchases at either of the following World of Outlaws events: Merced Speedway next Friday, Calistoga Speedway next Saturday or the Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway Sept. 6-8.

Or they can return the tickets to the address on the back for a refund of the Saturday portion of the show.

World of Outlaws points leader Donny Schatz claimed the Mini Gold Cup victory on Friday with two-time King of California Jonathan Allard a close second. Joey Saldana finished third to vault himself into second in the World of Outlaws standings.
