Lebanon-I-44-Speedway(LEBANON, Missouri) With the 2012 Season Opening race just over a week away, officials at Lebanon I-44 Speedway announced that a Pre-Season Practice and Drivers Meeting will be held at the Laclede County oval this Saturday afternoon, April 21. Pit gates will open at 11 am for early arrivers, and the Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 12:30 pm, with an open practice session for all five ASA ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ stock car classes from 1:30 to 5:30 pm.

Pit passes will be available for $20 for ASA members, $30 for non-members. Track promoter Craig Armstrong noted that all drivers who attend the special pre-season Drivers Meeting will receive a $5 rebate on their pit pass fee, and that the grandstands and Tier Parking areas will be open free of charge to the public during the Practice session.

“We want to encourage all of our racers to come out and shake down their racecars prior to the season opener on Saturday, April 28,” Armstrong said. “Equally as important will be the information, as well as special announcements about some very exciting sponsor programs for our racers, that we will cover in the Drivers Meeting. I also hope that many of our race fans will come out and enjoy an afternoon of fun at the track – that ought to get their mouths watering for the great season of ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ racing just ahead of us!”

The speedway’s 2012 racing season is slated to open on Saturday, April 28 with a five division ASA-sanctioned stock car racing program, plus a special post-race ‘Party in the Pits’, presented by Budweiser. Other than Saturday, July 14, when the track will be closed to support the Laclede County Fair, and Saturday, September 22 with preparations for the annual ‘Fall Shootout’ on September 28-29, the facility’s popular ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ shows will be presented every Saturday night through September.

Located just four miles east of the Lebanon city limit on Historic Route 66, the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval at Lebanon I-44 Speedway is the only operating asphalt oval track in the state of Missouri. Additional information about the facility may be found of the track’s official website, www.i44speedway.net, or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Lebanon-I-44-Speedway.
