Quincy Raceways is announcing that the Sunday July 1 MOWA Sprint Car Show will see some event changes due to the predicted extreme heat expected for that day. The scheduled start times for Sunday July 1 will now be Pit Gates open at 3:30, Grandstands at 6:00, Driver’s Registration Ends at 6:30, Drivers meeting at 6:30, Hot Laps at 6:45 and Sprint Qualifying at 7:30 or as soon as Hot Laps end. It is hoped that this change will allow some of the heat or the day to dissipate easing the strain on both spectators and racers alike.

The evenings events will start off with Hot Laps for the Miller Lite UMP Modifieds, MOWA Sprint Cars, Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods, and the Quincy Hobby Stocks followed by the MOWA Sprint Car Qualifying, Opening Ceremonies, Miller Lite UMP Modified Heat Races, MOWA Sprint Car Heat Races, Quincy Hobby Stock Heat Races, IMCA Sport Compact Feature Event, MOWA Sprint Car Dash, MOWA Sprint Car B-Main, Miller Lite UMP Modified Feature Event, Hobby Stock Feature Event, MOWA Sprint Car Feature Event and the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod Feature Event.

The IMCA Sport Compacts will not Hot Lap or run Heat Races nor will the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods run Heat Races for this event. The IMCA Sport Compacts and IMCA SportMods will be lined up for their feature events by inverted point average for the first ten positions and by point standings for the remainder of the field with approval from IMCA. These changes will hopefully help with the extreme temperatures that expected for Sunday July 1 and will allow both spectators and racers to still get home at a reasonable hour. Quincy Raceways will do everything it can to make this Special Event a great one despite what Mother Nature has in store. It is hoped that everyone will be amenable for these changes.
