MOWA - Monster Energy Sprint Series(Bill W) July 24, 2012 – The Midwest Open Wheel Association has had a couple of weeks off, but they needed it!  Things get hot and heavy for the MOWA drivers and anyone else who will be tackling Illinois Sprint Week and its four races in four nights!  The racing starts Wednesday night and continues through Saturday!

Invaders like Danny Smith are expected to challenge MOWA regulars during Sprint Week.  Smith won twice during last year’s Sprint Week, and led the nation in wins in 2011.  AJ Bruns leads the current MOWA point standings, ahead of defending champion, Jerrod Hull, Korey Weyant, Ben Wagoner and Jim Moughan.

The Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois will host MOWA for the first time Wednesday night as part of the Madison County Fair!  The semi-banked 1/4-mile is a perfect fit for the start of Sprint Week!

Things shift to the Peoria Speedway on Thursday night, where Hull claimed a victory with the series in 2011!  The racy and wide ¼-mile banked oval always produces excitement for any open wheel fan!  Two-time Knoxville Raceway champion, Brian Brown, is just one of the invaders expected to take aim at the MOWA regulars in Peoria!

Jacksonville Speedway will be the venue for MOWA on Friday night and drivers will be vying for $3,000 in the Mary Lee Standridge Memorial!  Point leader, AJ Bruns won at the banked ¼-mile oval earlier this season.  No MOWA driver has repeated at Jacksonville.  Will that change?  Terry McCarl, Hull, Smith and Jimmy Hurley were all 2011 winners at Jacksonville.

Saturday, Sprint Week will conclude at the Macon Speedway.  Hull was a winner there last year in the Sprint Week finale.  The tight bullring promises to bring a racy conclusion to Sprint Week!
