DeWayne Hobbs of Halfway took the lead from current track point leader Ted Ballinger on the 8th lap of the feature and held back Michael Jones in the closing laps to take home his 3rd feature Modified win of the season Saturday Night at the Midway Speedway in Lebanon.
The beginning of the feature race would see Wes Long take the 1st lap lead from his front row srarting spot. On the 2nd lap, Ballinger made the pas to take over the lead as Long, Hobbs,Jones and Bryan Myers following. Hobbs moved into the second place spot on lap 3and closed on leader Ballinger. The race slowed for a couple of caution flags as Kevin Forshey spun twice ending his night. On lap 8, Hobbs shot to the number 1 spot as Jones followed around Ballinger. With the top 3 close together,things got really interesting on lap 12 as Tim Balinger and Bill Schaar spun around. On the restart Jones move to the number 1 spot as hobbs made a run back to the lead asthe white flag waved. Hobbs would survive Jones charges in the final 2 laps to secure win number 3 wit ones, early leader Ballinger, Wes Long and Brian myers to follow.
Current Factory Stock point leader Tim Petty made it look easy tonight as the inversion fell his way in dominating the feature. The victory was Petty’s 5th of the points chase and came off the heels of a very tough Hot Summer Nights big pay day last lap win last weekend. Petty shot around Mike Murzynski on the 1st lap leaving the race for second place. Dylan Keepper moved into second place early and out ran Brandon Waters to take home the second place honors in the caution free feature. After the top 3 runners were Landon Clinton making his first Midway start of the season and Mike Murzynski. Petty would extend his point lead over Waters by only 2 points as problems in his heat race placed him back while Waters took a victory in his qualifying race.
The Street Stock feature would see a fast start as veteran Melvin Smith of Buffalo got the jump over Lebanon’s Brandon Henderson from the front row and lead all 15 laps in grabbing his 3rd feature of the 2012 Midway racing season. Henderson has been stronger late this season and locked into the runner-up spot with defending track champion Joe Francis rallied from a lap 5 get together with Karla Lampe to cross the line with a third place finish while Lampe and AdamLowrance finished in the top 5. Current point leader Mark Simon had problems and pulled out of action on lap 4 ending his night early.
Midwest Modified point leader Sam Petty keeps the outstanding season going strong as he moved by leader Billy Pearce on the 9th lap to take home win number 13 of the points chase. Petty had to rally from the last row starting position as Chris Cheever jumped to the lead for 4 laps before Pearce moved around. Petty played a patient game tonight waiting for the right time before moving to the lead. Points runner-up Travis Hill recovered from a lap 13 spin and charged to the runner-up spot as Bennie Joiner, early leader Pearce and Dustin Brown completed the top 5 finishers.
Pure Stock point leader Rob White of Lebanon  overtook Christopher Sawyer on the 6th lap in taking his 10th win of the season, Sawyer took over early with Jim Alexstates in hot pursuit. Lebanon’s Monk Barker waited until lap 10 before he made his march forward. White kept the number 5 smooth with Monk starting the last 5 lap rundown. Folowing White and Barker to the finish was early leader Sawyer, Bo Alexstates and brother Jim Alexstates.
