MACON SPEEDWAY AND SHRINER HOSPITALS HOST SHRINE 50 THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 24 WITH THE “BRING THE KIDS 12” BIKE GIVEWAY”

Macon Speedway(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway and Shriner Hospitals is excited to sponsor the Shrine 50, a 50-lap feature for Late Models this Saturday night at Macon Speedway, with the winner taking home $1,500! As part of the Shrine 50 night, the Shriners will be giving away six 12″ girls’ bikes and six 12″ boys’ bikes in memory of Robert Weaver who was a big supporter of the Shriners. Tickets for the giveaway may be purchased at the front gate. “We are very excited to bring great racing to the fans of Macon Speedway and help such a worthy cause,” said track owner Bob Sargent. Shriners supports Shriners Hospitals for Children®, an international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children® and receive all services at no financial obligation to families. Macon Speedway is proud to help the Shriners with their mission. Don’t miss your chance to help raise money to support the Shriners hospitals for Children®.

Also racing that night will be the Billingsley Towing UMP Modified, UMP Sportsman, UMP Street Stocks, UMP Outlaw 4-cyl. Hornets and Stock Hornets to entertain the fans along with many special activities planned.

Grandstands open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. Tickets for adults are still $10 if purchased in advance from Shriners or $15 at the gate. Children 11 and under are free!

Next Saturday will be the make-up date for the Raminator, sponsored by Bob Brady Dodge. It will also be the 9th Annual Illinois State Street Stock Championship with the winner taking home $500 and the Championship trophy!

Macon Speedway is located 9 miles south of Decatur, IL on US 51 then 1/2 mile west on Andrews Street, then South on Wiles.
