POWRiInside Line Promotions – CARL JUNCTION, Mo. (April 8, 2014) – It has been a challenging two months since Andrew Felker returned to the United States following his racing trip to Australia.

Rain has plagued his schedule and mechanical issues hampered the team three weeks ago during the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series season-opening weekend.

“It’s definitely frustrating, especially coming off a rough outing the opening weekend,” Felker said.

The POWRi events last weekend at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Ill., and at Macon Speedway in Macon, Ill., fell victim to rain, which leaves this weekend’s doubleheader at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind., as the next test to erase the sour taste.

“First off, I just want to get on the track at this point,” he said. “We have some high expectations going into Kokomo.”

Kokomo Speedway will host POWRi’s Kokomo Grand Prix this Friday and Saturday at a track where Felker feels very comfortable despite limited laps.

Felker was battling with Kyle Larson for the runner-up position during a feature last season at Kokomo Speedway before Felker got into the cushion, which damaged the Jacob’s Ladder.

“I definitely felt like we had a really good car last year,” he said. “I hit the cushion too hard battling with Larson for second and we ended up limping it home.”

Felker placed 11th last year and said he scored a top 10 approximately five years ago in his only other race at Kokomo Speedway prior to this weekend.

“With this weekend being a big show, realistically we’d like to be in the top 10 both nights and competing for a win hopefully,” he said. “We need to have a good run.”
