Lucas Oil Late Model Series(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Jason Riggs and his #81jr team invaded the newly-reopened Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky on Saturday, April 26 for the UMP DIRTcar Series-sanctioned ‘Bluegrass Nationals.’ The single-day showdown at KLMS boasted a $10,000 top prize. Jason ran fifth in heat race action, which locked him into the outside of the seventh row for the start of the 40-lap feature event. The Harrisburg, Illinois native was then able to move up four positions during the ‘Bluegrass Nationals’ to earn a solid tenth place performance.

Teammate Brian Shirley headed east with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a pair of $10,000 to win programs in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania on April 25-26. Unfortunately, both shows at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland and Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania succumbed to inclement weather. Complete results from KLMS on Saturday can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.klmsllc.com.

Both Brian and Jason will compete with the ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the states of Illinois and Kentucky over the May 1-3 extended weekend. Brian, who currently sits ninth in the national touring series point standings, will obviously enter all three weekend events at Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois on Thursday, Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday, and Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday. While Jason has chosen to skip tomorrow night’s $12,000 to win meet at Macon, he will travel to Granite City and Paducah for the $10,000 to win shows on Friday and Saturday.
