Quincy, Illinois (05/14/14) – 15-year-old Griffin will return to the driver’s seat of the #54 entry for Five 4 Motorsports, which is owned by NASCAR competitor, Daniel Hemric, this weekend at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (Lebanon, Missouri) for the 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro’s 144.
“I’m excited to not only pilot the #54 for Daniel (Hemric) again this weekend, but I’m excited to go into battle against veterans like Sterling Marlin and several other top drivers,” said Griffin. “Last year I had a great time taking part in the inaugural event, but had a little bit of bad luck. This year I’m ready to make a solid run at the big payday.”
The weekend will mark Jake’s second outing in the #54 Jack Links entry for Five 4 Motorsports. He debuted in the ride last month at Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, North Carolina). Jake is no stranger to the high-banked, 3/8 mile oval at Lebanon I-44 Speedway as he became the youngest driver to ever win a Pro Late Model race at the facility with a triumph on August 17th, 2013.
The event this Saturday posts a $8,000 top prize, and as the entry list has already shown it will be a talent laden field of cars. An open practice session will be held on Friday evening, while qualifying and the 144 lap finale will be contested on Saturday. The event is being sanctioned by the JEGS/CRA All-Stars.
