TCS Logo - flags(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith Racing made a trip to the Land of Lincoln on May 16-17 to compete in the ‘Spring Shootout’ at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. The two-day showdown at the 1/4-mile bullring was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and was scheduled to boast a pair of $10,000 winner’s checks. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and inclement weather canceled Friday night’s tilt.

On Saturday evening at LaSalle, Brady Smith ran third in heat race action, which lined him up starting from the inside of the fifth row in the $10,000 to win feature event. During the course of the 50-lapper, Brady was able to move past three racecars en route to a solid sixth place performance. The defending winner of the ‘Spring Shootout’ crossed underneath the checkers behind only race winner Jimmy Owens, Jared Landers, Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Don O’Neal. With the Memorial Day holiday weekend now upon us, the #2 team has circled four straight days on their calendar and will be in competition in the states of Missouri and Illinois from May 22-25. Things will kick-off tonight at the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri with a $5,045 to win Lucas Oil MLRA Series event, which leads into Friday and Saturday’s 22nd Annual ‘Show-Me 100.’ Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and heat races will take place at Wheatland on Friday night, while consolation races and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday evening. The winner of the crown jewel extravaganza will once again receive $30,000 for their efforts, while each feature starter will receive at least $1,500.

Following the action-packed three days at Lucas Oil Speedway, the Memorial Day holiday weekend will wrap up for Brady Smith Racing on Sunday, May 25 at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. The annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50’ will take place at the St. Louis area speedplant and a $10,000 top prize will be on the line for the UMP Super Late Models. In 2013, Brady was a threat to win at both Wheatland and Granite City, as he finished fourth in the ‘Show-Me 100’ and second in the ‘Budweiser 50’ behind only victor Shannon Babb. Additional information on the high-profile races at both venues can be located online at www.lucasoilspeedway.com and www.tricityspeedway.net.
