Kyle Busch earned his 40th career NASCAR Nationwide Series pole and series leading fourth this year. His other poles in 2014 came at Darlington, Charlotte and Michigan. Busch is on the second consecutive year at the Lilly Diabetes 250. He won the from the pole last year. Busch’s 179.888 mph is a new top qualifying speed for the event, topping his mark of 179.644 last year.

“Hopefully, we can carry this Monster Energy car back to Victory Lane,” said Busch. “But most importantly, try to win Sunday’s race and get that ring next year.”

The Nationwide race will be live Saturday on ESPN at 3:30 St. Louis time.
