ChiliBowl2014Inside Line Promotions – GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Jan. 11, 2015) – The name Swindell is synonymous with the Chili Bowl.

After watching his father, Sammy, win an event-leading five titles, Kevin Swindell has been a car to beat the past five years. He enters the 29 th edition of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals inside the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Okla., this week seeking his sixth straight top-two finish.

“We’re aiming for another win,” he said. “I’ve been excited to return to the Chili Bowl to regain the crown after finishing second last year.”

Swindell rallied from 14th to second during last season’s main event, which snapped his event-record four consecutive wins.

“It’s hard to make it five in a row when you start so far back in the field, but we had a shot at it,” he said. “With a couple more laps it would have been close.”

Swindell kicks off this week on Tuesday when he will compete in the $2,500-to-win Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions, which he won in 2013. His Chili Bowl preliminary night is scheduled for Thursday.

“I feel confident that we will be strong out of the gate and be in contention to win the prelim feature and the Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions event,” he said. “The mission is to get back to Victory Lane as soon as possible.”
