Inside Line Promotions – ODESSA, Texas (Jan. 13, 2015) – The 2015 season kicks off this week for Josh Baughman, who is invading the 29th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals for the second straight year.

Baughman is slated to compete in a midget for Andrew Felker Racing inside the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Okla., on Thursday prior to Saturday’s finale of the premier event.

“I learned a lot racing a midget here last year and I felt better each time I hit the track,” he said. “I’m looking forward to having some experience this year. Hopefully we draw a good number to start the night and we catch a break or two during the preliminary night to set us up well.”

Baughman showcased speed during last season’s preliminary night, when he powered from 14th to second place in a C Main. His night ended in the B Main, but it provided valuable laps.

“It’s important to quickly take advantage of every opportunity because the door shuts very fast at the Chili Bowl,” he said. “Every position counts and you have to move forward in each race.”

Baughman rallied from 12th to second in an H Main during last season’s finale before being involved in a crash while racing for the lead.

“We made huge gains last year so I feel confident going into Thursday night,” he said. “This event is a blast to be a part of so the goal is to have fun, put together good laps and see where it puts us.”
