American-Modified-SeriesChandler, IN- May 2- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series started the month of May at Chandler Motor Speedway in Chandler, IN with the tour’s first-ever visit to the Hoosier state track and Brian Shaw of Robinson, IL would claim the $1,500 payday.

Shaw would score his fifth career series victory behind the wheel of the Ted Brown’s Quality Paint and Body/Mason’s Recycling/Premier Auto Detail/REB Powdercoating/TLC Resale Shop/Crampton’s Painting and Drywall/Maxima Racing Oil/FOX Shocks/All Star Performance/Quick Car/Frankland Racing Equipment/Willy’s Carbs/KBC Graphix sponsored #1s Bandit Race Car powered by a Mullins Race Engine. The win by Shaw also marked the first repeat winner with the tour in 2015
Brian Shaw would take the lead at the event and Shaw would only be slowed the three cautions in his assault for the win. However, the battle for second would heat up in the final laps as Josh Harris, Clayton Miller, and Tyler Nicely would duke it out for the spot and actually close in on Shaw at bit, but Shaw would drive to the win, while the trio of Harris, Miller, and Nicely would come to the finish line three-wide and Harris would get the runner-up spot, with Miller nipping Nicely for third, while Danny Claycomb would complete the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Chandler Motor Speedway A-Main would be Mark Lamont, Dave Mitchell, John Clippinger, Clifford Tooley, and Nathan Seale. The 30 lap, $1,500 to win event would be slowed by three caution periods.

In preliminary action, Tyler Nicely would be the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among a field of 11 entries at 16.360 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Josh Harris, while Shaw scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two.

The next events for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be a two-race weekend at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway on Friday May 15 and Saturday May 16. The event will be the rescheduled Bluegrass Nationals from back in March, but will now be two complete shows, with the tour racing for $2,000 to win on Friday May 15 and $4,000 to win on Saturday May 16.
