World-of-Outlaws-Late-Model-Series(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) “Mr. Smooth” Billy Moyer racked up his fifth feature win of the 2015 racing season on Thursday evening, July 23 at Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois! Billy timed in fourth fastest in Group B during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying session prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. After drawing the pole position before the drop of the green flag in the ‘Workforce 40,’ Billy paced the stout field for the first eighteen circuits. The Batesville, Arkansas star then retook the point from Shane Clanton in heavy traffic on lap 38 and led the final three laps en route to capturing the $8,000 payday over Clanton, Josh Richards, Brandon Sheppard, and Tim McCreadie!

On July 24-25, the #21 team was in the pit area at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, as the 26th edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic’ paid a hefty $26,000 to the winner. On Friday night, Billy knocked down the third quickest lap in Group B during WOOLMS time trials and once again claimed the win in his stacked heat race. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer then led Saturday’s PDC on two different occasions (Laps 1-30, 50-51) from his pole starting spot. Unfortunately, Billy jumped the cushion and got into the wall – forcing him to retire from the 100-lap grind after only 55 circuits and settling for a twenty-first place effort. Full results from both Land of Lincoln venues can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

“That was a bad deal for Shane (Clanton) in lapped traffic there at Quincy and sometimes it is better to be in second in situations like that,” quoted Moyer recently. “That same thing has happened to me a couple of times this year, so it was nice to reverse that trend a little bit and get the win. Our new Moyer Victory Race Car has been running well and it feels good to put it into victory lane. Hopefully, we can start building some momentum heading into a stretch full of big-money races!”

Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) will now focus their full attention on this weekend’s 28th Annual ‘USA Nationals’ at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will once again preside over the crown jewel extravaganza, which will kick off tonight, July 30 with a $6,000 to win preliminary event. Qualifying and heat races for the ‘USA Nationals’ will then take place at CLS on Friday evening, July 31, while the consolation events and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday night, August 1. A whopping $50,000 top prize has been established and Billy will be gunning for his sixth ‘USA Nationals’ title.
