Dennis-Erb-Jr(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series took the #28 team to the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee and the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky over the June 3-4 weekend. At Tazewell on Friday night, a $10,000 winner’s check was on the line in the annual running of the ‘Toyota Knoxville 50.’ Dennis Erb, Jr. posted the twentieth quickest lap overall during the qualifying session and later advanced up to third in heat race action. After starting the 50-lapper from the outside of the fourth row, Dennis was able to work his way past four competitors on his way to a stellar fourth place effort behind only victor Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, and Steve Francis.

Saturday’s $30,000 to win ‘Ralph Latham Memorial’ at Florence was then rained-out and rescheduled for Thursday, August 11. Dennis, who hails out of Carpentersville, Illinois, still finds himself seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings exiting “The Taz.” Complete results from Friday can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing is now set to descend upon the hallowed ground of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 9-11 for the 22nd Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Things kick off at the “Big E” on Thursday and Friday with a full program featuring hot laps, time trials, heats, last chance races, and Twin 25 features. Thursday’s twin main events will pay $5,000 each to the winner, while Friday’s 25-lappers reward the winner with a $10,000 payday.

A new point system from the preliminary nights will then set the field for Saturday’s six heat races. For those not transferring through heat race competition, a pair of consolation events will then help round out the starting field for the 100-lap headliner. As is the norm, another whopping $100,000 windfall awaits the victor of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Dennis has made five career starts in the Dream finale and has posted a trio of Top Five performances in recent years including a third place podium showing in 2015. Additional information on the lucrative weekend, which boasts a total purse of $384,350, can be obtained by pointing your Internet browser to www.eldoraspeedway.com.
